A Consultant Ecologist at Johns Associates, Lauren undertakes project work on a wide range of schemes where ecological input is required, such as for residential development, sports and leisure facilities, energy projects, local government and small-scale schemes.
Lauren is experienced in a range of ecological work, including habitat and protected species survey. She has a particular personal interest in botany and birds, and is currently working on a number of projects where the ecology is especially rich in both of these. Lauren holds a number of protected species licences and is experienced in a broad range of survey techniques, acting as an Ecological Clerk of Works and producing Ecological Impact Assessments to a high standard.
Prior to working for Johns Associates, Lauren worked for Tyler Grange LLP and Halcrow (now CH2M Hill) as an Ecologist, and previous to that, undertook a short-term contract for Leeds University as a field research assistant, undertaking botanical, bird and butterfly surveys and invertebrate sampling as part of data collection for a UK biodiversity assessment of organic and non-organic farms. She also spent time volunteering with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust where she assisted with a range of practical work as well as survey, monitoring and working with volunteers.
In her spare time Lauren enjoys outdoor activities such as walking, off-road running, cycling and mountain biking as well as pottering in the garden. She also enjoys pilates and yoga.
