Kat joined Johns Associates in 2018 as an Assistant Ecologist and has since been promoted to Senior Ecologist in recognition of her skills.
Kat has over 6 years experience working in ecological consultancy and specialises in botanical surveys (including Phase 1 and UKHab surveys covering a range of habitat types (both aquatic and terrestrial) as well as more specialist surveys e.g. NVC and condition assessments). She has experience of undertaking protected species surveys and has acted as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) on a range of projects and for a number of protected species and habitats. Kat is responsible for producing a range of reports, from PEAs and EcIAs to habitat management plans, LEMPs, CEMPs, habitat inspection reports, BREEAM Assessments and the production of production of Ecology chapters of Environmental Statements and co-ordinating the technical appendices for these. Kat is experienced in Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and providing advice to clients to enable them to achieve the maximum biodiversity benefits through their development proposals.
She manages a growing portfolio of projects and is responsible for ensuring all botanical surveys are carried out to a high standard within the Company, including providing botanical training to less experienced members of the team.
