Fisheries

Successful fish and fisheries management involves understanding a wide range of environmental and socio-economic issues. It’s often treated in isolation, but a significant body of research and practical experience demonstrates that catchment wide processes, changes in demand and infrastructure development significantly influence river, lake or coastal fisheries as much as (or even more than) local issues.

We take a holistic approach, drawing on our in-house multidisciplinary expertise and combining this with highly respected fisheries professionals. Our fisheries scientists have long-term experience of a wide range of projects both in the UK and globally. Our technicians have a good grounding in fisheries and water management. The team has professional credibility through individual memberships of the Institute of Fisheries Management and through numerous peer reviewed publications.  All our fisheries work is certificated through ISO14001, CHAS and Investors in People.

Our ‘source to sea’ approach includes the development and design of new still water or riverine fisheries (including planning and other relevant permissions). We have a team of scientists, technicians and contractors who offer a full range of technical and practical services. This is complemented by survey and monitoring equipment, boats and an off-road capability.
